Reporting directly to the EVP, Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO), you will lead a large, cross-functional organization (Product, Engineering, and Support Operations) to plan and deliver resilient systems, scalable platform services, and digital capabilities that enable operational excellence, member experience, and profitable growth.</p><p> This role is both strategic and deeply operational: You will oversee leaders across the system domains to set a multi-year modernization roadmap, own vendor & partner strategies, and collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and club leadership to accelerate automation across the front line, back-office, and distribution network.</p><p></p><p> Your role will consolidate leadership of two domains Enterprise Excellence and Club Excellence to provide coherent technology stewardship across the back-office, supply chain, and club systems. Your decisions will materially affect member experience, the productivity for 25,000+ team members, and enterprise resiliency. This is a visible, high-impact role on the Technology Leadership Team.</p><p></p><p><b> Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p><u><b>Strategic Leadership & Roadmap</b></u></p><ul><li>Serve as the <b>executive technology and business process leader</b> for all core enterprise (Merchandising, Supply Chain Planning, Finance, Human Capital Management, Payroll, Legal, Real Estate) and field (Warehouse, Transportation, Club, and Gas Station) technology solutions.</li><li> Translate business priorities (supply chain efficiency, automation, omni-channel integration, labor productivity) into <b>measurable technology roadmaps and investment plans</b> that support strategic business priorities<b>.</b></li><li> Serve on the Technology Leadership Team and partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Operations, etc. leaders to align<b> investment priorities, governance, and delivery.</b></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b> Technology Portfolio Management</b></u></p><ul><li>Own the<b> strategy</b> <b>for core platforms</b> that run our merchandise planning, purchasing, warehouse management, transportation, POS, workforce management, replenishment/order management integrations, ERP, and asset management systems.</li><li> Ensure <b>seamless omnichannel flows</b> between digital channels, fulfillment systems, and clubs to optimize inventory, reduce friction at the point of sale, and improve fulfillment economics.</li><li> Guide <b>investment strategies and capital/expense planning</b> across the domain to accomplish integration, scalability, and value delivery.</li></ul><p></p><p><u><b> Delivery Oversight & Capability Development</b></u></p><ul><li><b>Govern</b> <b>prioritized high-value initiatives</b>, including supply chain automation, POS modernization, cloud migrations, site resiliency, and cost-to-serve improvements.</li><li><b> Ensure successful development, implementation, and adoption</b> ofinitiatives, enabling automation, process improvement, and data-driven insights.</li><li> Establish <b>strong product management, engineering, and support practices</b> across teams to ensure predictable delivery, value realization, and transparency.</li><li><b> Modernizeapplications </b>and drive API-based integration to improve velocity and reduce technical debt.</li><li> Establish <b>scalable and secure architecture</b> standards across the technology domains.</li><li> Enforce<b>clear success metrics and benefits realization</b> frameworks for all major programs.</li><li> Partner closely with Cybersecurity and Risk to ensure secure architecture, endpoint posture, and regulatory compliance across retail and supply chain systems.<b>Maintain compliance</b> posture through continuous control monitoring and audit readiness.</li><li><b> Ensure DR/BCP readiness</b>and test recovery playbooks periodically.</li></ul><p></p><p><u><b> Financial & Vendor Management</b></u></p><ul><li><b>Own capital and operating budgets</b> for your domains; produce financial plans that fund modernization while realizing cost efficiencies.</li><li> Lead <b>vendor strategy, contract negotiation, MSP governance</b> <b>and third-party performance management </b>to extract maximum value and innovation from partners.</li><li> Develop <b>multi-year investment plans</b> balancing near-term ROI with long-term modernization.</li></ul><p></p><p><u><b> Talent, Culture & Organization</b></u></p><ul><li><b>Recruit top talent, create clear career pathways, and ensure succession</b> for mission-critical roles. Coach, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team.</li><li><b> Foster a culture</b> of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.</li><li> Ensure team participation in key industry forums to <b>stay abreast of emerging technologies</b> relevant to your technology domains.</li></ul><p></p><p><b> Professional Experience and Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Masters degree strongly preferred.</li><li> 20+ years of progressive technology leadership experience with at least 5+ years in an executive role (SVP/VP) leading large, distributed IT organizations in retail, supply chain, or multi-site operations.</li><li> Demonstrated ownership of both application portfolios, such as SAP (FICO, Retail/Merch, SCM, S/4HANA), JDA/Blue Yonder, Manhattan WMS, Workday, and POS solutions (e. g., Toshiba ACE).</li><li> Proven track record delivering large programs, such as ERP, WMS, and POS re-platforms with systems integration, digital transformation, and large-scale project/program management.</li><li> Strong financial acumen: budget ownership, capital planning, vendor contracting and commercial negotiation experience.</li><li> Retail or multi-site operational experience strongly preferred (experience with Toshiba ACE, Toshiba Elira, or modern POS platforms is a plus).</li><li> Exposure to enterprise automation, AI/ML enablement, or advanced analytics integration considered advantageous.</li><li> Demonstrated success in leading and building high-performing agile delivery teams.</li><li> Leadership Competencies:</li><li>Strategic thinker with strong commercial orientation and ability to translate technology into measurable business outcomes.</li><li> Executive presence and exceptional communication skills able to influence C-level stakeholders and align cross-functional partners.</li><li> Proven change agent: able to drive transformation in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining operational stability.</li><li> Servant leader with high emotional intelligence; skilled at building diverse, high-performing teams and mentoring senior leaders.</li><li> Data-driven decision maker with a bias for measurable results and continuous improvement.</li><li> Enterprise mindset and systems thinking orientation that connect technology choices to member, associate, and shareholder outcomes.</li></ul><p></p><p><b> Work Environment & Travel</b></p><ul><li>Hybrid role based at our Marlborough, MA headquarters with travel to clubs, distribution centers, and partner sites as required.</li><li> On-call availability for major incidents and critical change windows.</li><li> Expectations for visibility at key operational locations and active engagement with field leadership.</li></ul><p></p><p> This role is pivotal in shaping BJs next generation of operational technology and delivering tangible impact across the member, team member, and shareholder experience.</p><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span> This is a hybrid role.
