Qualifications
You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge and understanding of management principles, practice, methods, techniques, and the ability to integrate these practices within Quality and Patient Safety (QPS); responsible for identifying, planning and operational coordination of all administrative support work for the service line; demonstrate current clinical/healthcare experience, including a background in patient safety and/or work with implementing High Reliability initiatives in healthcare, knowledge and understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Systems, Crew Resource Management (CRM), Just Culture, and the characteristics of High Reliability Organizations (HRO), background in healthcare leadership with experience leading cultural and organizational change, and the ability to create and foster productive and collegial relationships among numerous stakeholders; Communication and interpersonal relations, including the ability to relate to internal and external customers appropriately and courteously; Communication with customers in a courteous manner; respond promptly to their requests; Organize and present significant amounts of data; Developing and maintain Excel/Access database. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Administration and Management Manages and Organizes Information Communication Computer Skills Organization Performance Analysis Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary with occasional mobility. Minimal travel can occur. No special physical demands are required perform the work. Some bending, stooping and carrying light items such as paper and binders is required. Keyboarding, communications, either by telephone or in person, filing and record keeping are some of the principal activities.
